What photo and video formats does Nixplay support?

Photo Formats:
You can upload photos in JPEG, PNG, and TIFF file formats to your Nixplay account. If you're using iOS devices, the HEIC format is also supported, but it will be automatically converted to JPEG before uploading to the Nixplay Cloud.
Please note that HEIC format is not currently supported on Android devices, but we're actively working on adding support in the future.
Video Formats:
Generally, MP4 files encoded using H264 or H265 are supported for videos. Some device models may also support the MOV video format. Videos are transcoded to a maximum of 720p resolution, 30 FPS, and Mpeg4 video codec before being uploaded to the Nixplay Cloud.
Recommended Video Format for Newer Devices:
  • Format: MP4
  • Codecs: H264, H265 (HEVC, AVC1, HVC1)
  • Minimum Resolution: 128 x 128
  • Maximum Resolution: HD 1080p
  • Aspect Ratios: 16:9
  • Frame Rate: 30 FPS
  • Maximum Bitrate: 20 Mbps
Please note:
  • Slow-motion videos are not supported.
  • Live Photos are converted to static photos.
  • Older devices may have different supported settings.
  • Some devices may support additional formats and resolutions, such as iPhones and Samsung devices that can handle MOV format up to 4K resolution (3840 x 2160) and other aspect ratios.
